HONK! HONK!
Why the goose, you may ask? This is supposed to be a website about a renaissance wind band, consisting of shawms, sackbuts, dulcians, cornettos, and recorders! WELL, you’ll get your answer at our SoHIP concerts next week! A Parish Feast is shaping up to be a mighty tasty program. There will be songs about food, beer, lovely ladies, and maybe even a goose! We’re also thrilled to have soprano Barbara Hill with us once again.
Please check out SoHIP‘s website for ticket information, and don’t forget to like us on Facebook!
Seven Hills Returns to SoHIP!
We’re looking forward to kicking off the 26th Annual SoHIP Boston Summer Concert Series! Seven Hills has been a SoHIP favorite for many years now, and we’re thrilled to perform a program of delicious (literally!) music to start your summer. Please join us for three concerts on June 12, 13, and 14 at some of the loveliest chapels in New England! Without further ado, Seven Hills presents:
A Parish Feast: Lassus and Pevernage
We discovered the music of Andreas Pevernage a few years ago, and fell in love at first read. His distinctive, rich compositions are well suited to the warm sounds of Renaissance winds. We have paired his music with one of our old favorites, Roland de Lassus, for a program we could just as well have called ‘Music we Really Like’. We have selected a number of songs on subjects close to our hearts – food and drink, music and ‘romance’. Sprinkled with a dose of repentance in the form of some beautiful sacred music, we have arranged a party – from grace until the beer runs out.
LATEST NEWS: Thank you!

Speaking of which, you can catch us at the gorgeous Cambridge YMCA Theatre this Wednesday, December 7 at 8 PM. We will be jamming with Newpoli, the well-known Southern Italian folk band. It’ll be a great concert, and we hope to see you in the audience!
